Bio

I sent some personal information last week, but decided to post it again in
the preferred format.

- Name: Vaughan Bromfield

- Profession/Study: (Title) Education Consultant, teaching people how to
use computers; Studied Electrical Engineering (didn't finish), then
Photography trade course, then Adult Education. I have also taught
photography, and enjoy doing excursions and workshops more than anything

- Country: Australia (Sydney)

- Personal history of photography: I can remember getting a cheap plastic
rollfilm camera when a kid, about 8 or ten years old (still have a few
prints, too) but *really* got the bug in 1985 when I fell in love with my
brother's Pentax ME Super and left studies in Electrical Engineering to
learn Photography at Sydney Technical College. Haven't done much
photography in the past four or five years while I concentrated on (and
enjoyed) learning how to be a parent ;-) and am building a darkroom under
my house.

- preferred subjects: mostly landscape & architecture, but want to do more
work with people.

- materials (film, filters, paper, chemistry): I love doing b+w work
because it is important to complete the photo-cycle: vision -> print. Enjoy
colour, and used to make 12x16 Cibachromes when I worked as printer. Prefer
keeping materials and processes to simple minimum: HP5 Plus, ID-11.

- format (35mm/medium format/large format): At various times I have owned
Olympus OM 1, 2, 4, lenses 16-300mm; Bronica SQ + 105mm; Mamiya TLR; Linhof
Technika III, IV, V, lenses 90, 150, 180, 270mm. Prefer 35mm especially
ultra wide lenses for most work except architecture where 4x5 is ideal.
Actually I just sold *everything* except OM1n 35 and 50mm lenses to build
darkroom, so am looking forward to increased mobility now on excursions!

- How did you find out about this list: Photo-L or PhotoForum.
