IR and Flash Photography

I haven't (yet) tried putting filters over the
flash, but I have used studio flash with all
three black-and-white IR films, with #25
filters, and with an 87C filter for HIE.

The only big surprise was with the Konica
film: rating it at ASA8 gave me unprintably
thin negatives with flash and overly dense
but printable negatives outdoors. I only tried
this once, and may have misread my light meter.
Has anyone else found this film to be
especially slow with flash?

Sunday afternoon I'm photographing a
model who has a lot of tattoos. I'll
be using the Konica and Ilford SFX
films; they both darken tattoos nicely.
Should be interesting...
