The samples I have seen are equivalent to #89B, Hoya R72, B+W 092 and 
Heliopan RG695. 
IMO this is the darkest color that can be used with an SLR and still 
be looked through.

BTW: did your filter come with a manual? I have one that says that 
IR-focus correction is not needed, due to build in correction 
(assuming diopter). Joe Berenbaum pointed me to this stunning fact, 
but even Rollei Braunschweig denies its existence, albeit they say it 
can be done. Must fax them this manual....see what they have to say 
about it then....;-))
