Re: Ilford SFX 200
I have had an opportunity to shoot a few rolls of the new Ilford film in
35mm. I really liked it, had my local lab process it, found it to be a true
200 asa film & got beautiful negatives.
The unpredictability of Kodak IR drives me nuts. I have had multiple rolls
shot at the same time, same scene & processed separately & gotten
inconsistent results. One roll looked fine, so I processed the other & it
was fogged.
I've shot the Konica in 120 format with Hasselblad & really liked the
consistent results, but after further deliberation I like the grainy,
etherial quality that Kodak provides. As a commercial photographer, I like
to use infrared for paying jobs but have difficulty due to inconsistent
results, therefore Ilford may be the right compromise.
I really enjoy the discussions that are found on the infrared group. THANKS.
Jeff
