I believe you're thinking about how many cameras deal with aperture
settings. They allow you to alter the aperture by 1/3 stop increments.
No, one stop will double or halve the EI. For instance, if you are set
at EI100 and open up one stop, you are now set for EI50. Conversely,
stop down one stop and you're set for EI200.
