This is my understanding in general--that all films unless they are to
be used soon, may be refrigerated to extend their useful life. IR
films, generally being used on an occasional basis, may linger on the
shelf longer than most--either before or after sale--and thus are
particularly likely to profit from refrigerated storage. Stores don't
freeze them because refreezing breaks down the gelatin and many of us
freeze our IR films between purchase and use. (I do.)

Do I hear any comments or corrections?
