Here in the States, Agfa has no concept of marketing--at least not in
the areas to which I'm privy. They have a belief in their own
rightness (the excecutives I've talked to are all German, but I
mustn't draw any conclusions) and pay little attention to marketplace
realities when they happen to run counter to the Agfa mindset. I
wouldn't hold my breath for anything from Agfa. On the other hand,
having failed utterly to penetrate the U.S. retail audio cassette
market, they are (or were?) a standard brand of blanks for
prerecording demos and so on because they offered a variety of lengths
that were hard to find elsewhere. So perhaps I'm being unreasonably
negative (no pun intended) about them.

I've had some E-mail from B&H about the misleading Ilford listing in
their catalog. Henry Posner still insists that the advance Ilford
information available to B&H called it SFX-750, but he says they will
be correcting the designation in the earlist possible catalog--either
December or January. (November has gone to press, and he's not sure
about December.)
