Are these two papers resin-coated?
The reason that I ask may sound a little silly. But, I have been trying to
find a RC paper that will handle the contrasty negs, and also be suitable
for hand-coloring. I love Ektalure, and I like the way that fiber base
papers print. But, herein lies my concern.
I am concerned about the environment...and besides worrying about
disposing of chemicals, I cringe when I have to leave the water running
for 20 minutes to one hour for fiber-base papers. For some reason this
bothers me. Since I work and have to do darkroom work late at night I
usually leave the fiber base papers in a water bath until morning. One day
I had just not had time to wash them, and was going to throw them all
away. My son's girl friend came into the kitchen and wouldn't let me throw
them alway. She said, "these are too good to throw away....I'll wash
them." So, outside of keeping her around all of the time, I'm looking for
an alternative.
I would gladly switch to an RC paper if I can find one that
will work for my purposes. Therefore, I am enjoying these suggestions that
are coming in as to paper usage.
And, I don't consider this off-subject because those (*^&!$#!,) IR
negatives are hard to print!
