Compensation for what? My images are freely available on my Web page.
Were someone to steal an image and profit from it, then certainly I
would go after them. Of course, that's not what we're talking about. A
closer situation would be for someone to download an image and send it
to someone who has no Web access as an example of this or that. Given
proper attribution, I'd certainly have no problems with that (I've told
folks that if they don't have Web access that I'd be more than happy to
EMail images to them).
We're not talking about depriving anyone of income. I'd be more than
happy to send Mr. Clark, or whomever, funds for the purpose of the
book. The fact of the matter is that the book is no longer available.
Anywhere. The obvious exception to this is the occasional book dealer
that get his/her hands on a copy. I'd be more than happy to pay a book
dealer for a copy of the book. You see, the bottom line is that I'm
more than happy to pay for a copy, but one simply isn't available (I've
looked for the book for about three years, having given up about a year
ago). Someone else, in this case, was just luckier than me. I'm
willing also to pay for the information, which will happen. If this
sounds like an unfair situation to you, then we just have an honest
disagreement.
