Murray-- It seems that many are making it more difficult to use infrared than
it really is. Personal experience has established an (ei) of 200. Meter
through the filter & bracket two exposures from the correct meter reading.
You do not open the lens for exposure compensation for the filter, unless
metering with a hand-held light meter, or making flash exposures in the
manual exposure mode. If using infrared filters, through which exposures
cannot be metered, meter without the filter in place and then of course open
up 3-5 stops ( depending on the specific infrared filter ) for exposure
compensation. It is that simple.
