I purchased a Panasonic microcassette recorder at Walmart for around $30.
I never liked taking notes either. This has been a real help. After
returning home, I transcribe the notes which doesn't take very long. Then
I write the exposure above each negative in the negative page. At the top
is the type of film, the ASA that I used, and development time. This has
been the best thing that I ever started doing. It's also neat because
sometimes you pick up some little extras......like when my husband said,
"!!#*$!, it's really hot out here!" It's a great idea, and if you don't
get the playback switch set right you have the fun of hearing yourself
talking "chipmunk" style.
