What worked for me was to take the plastic that comes with paper and cut
it into strips.  The strips are then rolled into a tube, taped, and
placed in the door jams.  A larger tube is made for the bottom of the
door, which is several inches above the floor.  It's so tight that I
can't hear the telephone, which is about four feet away from the
bathroom door.

Ventilation is indeed something important to consider.  Of course, as I
do very little printing during the summer and a great deal of printing
in the winter, I often just turn the lights out in the apartment and
leave the bathroom door open at night.
