I asked my lab how they did it....in the sleeves allright.
However, I have never noticed a difference in contrast nor
sharpness between contact sheet and final print; neither color nor
b&w.
Of course, this would be totally different if they used a translucent
kind of back material, instead of clear plastic.
Wonder if there are other factors involved in this fuzziness....
And like Betty said, there are some rational reasons to make sleeved
contacts....my lab wouldn't want to do it any other way. And since I
can't see any difference, I fully agree. Everything is better than a
scratched 'once in a life time shot'....
