Russ-- An additional note about polarizing filters from Kodak's Applied
Infrared Photography: "There are conflicting reports about the effectiveness
of polarizing filters in subduing infrared specular reflection. The general
conclusion is that polarizers designed for ordinary photography do not
polarize infrared radiation. Infrared comparison photographs made with a
polarizing filter resulted in scarcely noticeable improvement. Polarized
exposures are also double that required for unpolarized photographs."
