You may be on to something.  For sure, the camera appeared clean, but when I
looked at my negatives with a loupe, there was a small hair-like line at the
top left corner of every frame.  Problem is, the line is present in the
frames with the band, so it doesn't look like it was being dragged along to
create the banding effect.  But it seems like too much of a coincidense.
I've never had a hair appear in my negs before.
