Re: availability of HIE

Hi all,
It was I who started the thread on HIE being discontinued. What I actually
said was I feared that more than the discontinuation of d76. I never heard
that they were going to, I simply think it seems like something that it
would do. With shifting top executives, regular large scale
reorganizations, big losses in some non-photo areas and the investment of
many millions of dollars in digital research and products, I think it is
vulnerable. I don't know how much profit a film that measures its sales in
thousands of rolls can generate, but its hard to imagine a CEO making it
part of its "plan" for the future.

So, I heard nothing! And heres what you all should do about that... mark
some art whenever you can.

Having said all that let me just throw this in: I use Netscape and I don't
know if it will work in other browsers, but you can just type in the center
part of a URL and skip the http:// and the .com and you'll go to that site.
For instance, if you type in netscape and hit enter, you'll be taken to
http://netscape.com. It only works with .com sites though. So the reason
I'm telling you this is to suggest for some interesting web wandering try
typing in infrared or infra-red.

so long, Peter
