Polar Bears and Infrared film question

I think I remember something about polar bears and infrared
photography. Does anyone recall reading about polar bear fur
having special properties with infrared light and a discovery
by somed Canadian wildlife biologists with aerial photography.
I went down to the San Diego Zoo a few weeks ago, and took a
roll of HIE film of some polar bears at the Polar Plunge
exhibit. I used mostly a 500mm mirror lens, tripod and HC110
dilution B for development. Should I be looking for something
special in the photos ? I tried to take the same shots on
color slide film... Hank
