Re: Heat vs IR



The definition of "heat" is pretty fuzzy, so if you disagree with my
numbers, I'd probably agree with you (go figure).

It starts around 3-4 microns (REALLY HOT) and goes up to 20-30-wherever
(depends on your definition of "heat").  If you ask a radio astronomer,
get them started on the 3K cosmic background.  Chances are they'll mention
"heat" or "temperature" several times, and that's well out of the micron
regime.
