House Heat Loss

About ten years ago my local power company (Consolidated Edison) provided as
a service to its customers a helicopter fly over of my neighborhood, which
took IR photos of all the houses to see if any heat loss was evident. Houses
who's roofs showed up white indicated a heat loss, dark roofs indicated
proper insulation. (unfortunately, my house was under so many large trees, it
didn't show up at all!). You may try contacting ConEd's PR Dept. to get the
technical details of the project.
