Hello everyone. My name is Bill Franson and I've been on the list for a
while and am just getting around to introductions. I'm a corporate
photographer living in, Massachusetts, USA. For the last few years I've been
concentrating also on personal projects, mostly landscape, some infrared and
have begun to show the work to clients and in galleries.
My landscape work is all medium format, black and white, typically either
Tmax 100 or Konica infrared (with an orange filter). I carry a couple of
loaded backs with each. The Konica film is processed close to the
manufacturers recommendation in D-76 straight. I bracket over and under 1
stop, more when the light is questionable, which is often. I like the finer
grain and subtle effect of the Konica film. And it is much easier to handle
than Kodak.
If anyone is in Massachusetts in late March through April 97 they can see
some of my infrared images at the Firehouse Gallery in Newburyport.
Two questions: is anyone familiar with Lynn Geesaman's work? I just saw a
show of her medium format landscapes at Yancy Richardson Gallery on Broadway
in New York. Several of her images had an infrared look but I couldn't be sure.
Also, I just noticed that some of the new high end digital cameras
(EOS.DCS 5 and DCS 420) can come set up for infrared sensitivity. No doubt
they are a special order item. Anyone with digital, infrared experience?

Bill
