Bobbi,

The problem with the Konica film is that it is only an extended red
sensitivity film.  It just does not have the same properties as HIE, higher
contrast the HIE, and a totally different characteristic curve, as well.
 Since its red sensitivity only goes up to 750nm you cannot use the 87c
filters with it unless you want a nice frame of blank film.

To use it as a conventional black and white film, I would simply use a filter
like a green or a yellow-green to cut down on the red light pass through or,
to put it another way, increase the red light blocking.
