B/W: Tri-X, HIE, Ilford chemicals and paper
Colour: Usually neg film, no real preference as long as it is sharp. I
usually get a lab to process colour - it's not very economical to do it
myself.

I keep reading mixed responses about the Konica film. I just bought
some (it's significantly cheaper than HIE here) and we'll see how it
goes...
I have also seen that people seem worried about loading HIE. I just
climbed into the wardrobe! The only problems on the film were my varying
guesses at exposure.
