Bravo!!
Thanks for pointing out the major source of development problems that most
people overlook -- the damn water!
Long ago I started a regular practice of pre-wetting my film prior to
development and using only distilled water to mix my developer with. I have
yet to have any bubbles on my film, 35mm or 120.
I pre-wet using regular tap water at the temperature that I will be
developing at. This conditions the emulsion from both a temp and uniform
wetting standpoint. I drain the tank well by inverting it until only a
couple of drops come out. Then and only then do I add the working solution.
I use HC-110 to develop my HIE and get excellent development of the film. I
may not always like the images but that's my fault not the developer's.
Hope this helps,
Mike Brouphy
