I've just gone through this myself.  I ended up unsubscribing and
resubscibing under my new address.  For most lists this is straightforward.
Subscriptions to the IR list appear to be handled manually by the list
owner, so if he isn't around, it could take awhile to switch over  (please
correct me if I'm wrong!).
