Gralab Timer & HIE 4x5 Sheet Film
- From: James Norton <bj208@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

I've always questioned myself about this but have never bothered to ask
anyone...how much light do the hands and numbers on the Gralab 300 timer
give off if any? I was told that it actually does not give off any light
at all (I find this hard to believe since I see the glow of the timer of
the walls of my darkroom) but gives off a glow from absorbed light. When
I've been loading and unloading film I've been covering the timer with a
blanket. My main concern is that I'm now begining to work with the 4x5
HIE film in my darkroom instead of the darkroom I usually use at
school and do not want to fog the film even before I get a chance to
put it in my holders. So can anyone verify what I've been told...or is
there another side to the story? Thanks...and everyone have a great new
years!
Jim
