Several posts here have suggested that CCDs are inherently
IR-sensitive and that some digital cameras therefore include
filtration to block IR and keep the image more normal-looking.  I
assume that Nikon's digital IR camera simply omits this filter--or
possible substitutes an IR-pass filter.
