Ki Ora Richard,
My wife's brother lives in Palmerston North, his Name is Martin Skinner,
(the All Black, Kevin Skinner, being an Uncle) Martin works for the
government, Public Works Road Surveyor I believe. Josphine's(my mate)
mother lives in Timaru. We may return there one day, more likely we
will go to Auz though, we have an apartment in Brisbane. I am a Yank,
Southern Californian; we live in San Francisco right now.
Being Summer Down Under this is the best time for IR landscapes.
Remember the effects when you shoot and paint/compose accordingly. It
is the sun that gives the greatest effect, meaning what ever is bathed
in its light will glow like. Shadows go black easily as does the blue
sky (the red filter being the greatest cause of this). The best work I
have seen is where the artists makes a dynamic composition using these
effects as graphic elements while considering the content as well. If
you follow that snaking line of thinking.
Best of luck pal.
