An additional note, not neccessarely related: if your BTFR filter is 
a very thin one, you might create quite large forces on it by zooming 
in and out. Not sure how air-tight the mirror-box & shutter itself 
is, but on some cameras you can feel a draft along the eyepiece. The 
film itself is hardly affected since the film rails leave gaps left 
and right....but the BTFR filter is mounted flush, closing those 
gaps.
Just a thought....take it FWIW....;-))

PS: my BTFR #87C is still shining in my EOS-1....still no scratches, 
finger prints or dirt....it might be stuck there for the rest of its life....8-))
