Presoaking gives a subtle reduction in contrast, by giving a slower start
to development of highlights. This is important with a high energy
developer like HC110. If you add or subtract a pre-soak, you should adjust
developing time by about half a minute. If you have any problems with air
bubbles, it also gives you a chance to really rap the tank hard a couple of
times without messing up your agitation sequence.
I also agitate once a minute for 10 seconds, rather than every 30, to
increase the compensating effects.
