Ken (Sinclair), I think you were sending this from a different
account, which Listproc doesn't like....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One problem that I have heard of with 4 x 5 IR film...other than
those who continue to have problems with either bellow or
darkslides with or without the appropriate number of bumps is *fog
during processing* . The modern slab doors on many darkrooms will
transmit IR radiation if ther is a source within a close distance
of that door. ie. a furnace, gas hot water tank. I had that problem
at one time. IR will not tranfer through gyproc but it can and
does pass through *hollow* doors.
Attach alumin(i)um foil to the outside of the door, making sure
that the edge of the doorway is also well covered. There is often
a space between the plaster wall and the door casing.
I was also led to believe that the bumps on the dark slide were an
indication of haveing been exposed or otherwise...at least that
was the way I was taught those many years ago....
