new Kodak color infrared film

HI all-
Just wanted to let those interested in the new Kodak Ektachrome infrared film
know that yesterday Kodak sent me samples of shots taken with the new film,
processed in E-6 chemistry. The verdict-- there is no need for concern
regarding how (colorwise) the new film compares to the old film. The images
from the new film look great! The infrared reproduction is the same as the
old film and the colors are bright and saturated with overall excellent
contrast. The color shift with the yellow filter remains the same (vegetation
is magenta in color) so I assume other filters will reproduce vegetation and
sky similar to the old film-i.e. red filter-orange vegetation and blue-green
sky, blue filter-magenta vegetation and sky. I was very impressed at how the
colors were clean and not muddy looking with good separation, making objects
stand out distinctly from background coloration. This weekend I will
personally shoot a test roll with various filters and report the results next
week.
