IR Focus Shift with Ektachrome

Since our visual preception of colour has about half the sharpness of our
monochrome, and since red is fairly dim compared to green, a slight
blurring of red is not really any big deal. You should see the red channel
on video from VHS sometime. Ugh!
Thsat's the theory ... has anyone noticed red fuzziness on colour-IR
slides? I'm scanning some of mine for the site so I'll look closely. So
far the main problem has been quantisation due to the low luminance of the
red channel/layer which would, in itself, tend to hide soft edges and
obscure fine detail.
Andy
PS: I notice that Bob Long has already said much the same thing. And how
many angels was it? This beats chemistry anytime for me :-)
