Re:70mm HIE used as 120 roll

Hi,
Any comments or advice please, on the possibility of trimming 70mm HIE
film and using recycled 120 roll film backing paper and holder, Or with 220
and no paper?
I have recently had no difficulty in exposing HIE 35mm rolled onto
120, (example sent to gallery) with a borrowed Pentax 6*7. I found that cotton
gloves are a good precaution as in the dark it was neccessary to handle
35mm film to check it was centrally located on the 120 backing paper.
On my first attempt the finger marks showed very clearly on
processing. Aluminium foil was included in darkroom black-out material. Of
course the 120 roll can only then be loaded, unloaded and stored in total
darkness. One of the problems would be accurately trimming the film from
70mm to about 60 mm, 5mm from each side would probably be the best
option. Regards,
Cameron.
