Jobo Processing -Reply

To add to the thread on processing equipment of choice:
I too have been developing my HIE in a Paterson tank with plastic reels. I
might add I've never heard of bleaching my reels and do use them with
Kodak Photo Flo. I simply rinse them off after the film is removed and
hang them up at a 45 degree angle to drip-dry. Only problems I've
encountered so far are mostly my own doing; wrong developer or
wrong dilutions of the right developer. Or both! :=)
I agree Jobo is rather expensive! I was totally flabbergasted when I
called them about their big tank system to develop a 15 foot length of
70mm film. We're talking $700+ US for the complete system. For that
price, I'd expect a technician to come with the equipment so I could just
turn over my film to be processed and come back later to a complete set
of prints to proof.......

Jobo is a rather expensive way to go. However, if cost is not an object
for you, then it is certainly the most convenient way to process your
film that will give you excellent results. If you are considering it
for B&W sheet film, you still have an option with BTZS tubes. Remember,
you can buy a lot of film and paper for the cost of convenience.
