HSI and Leica M6

I have joined this group in the hope that you, who are much more
knowledgeable than I, can cast some light on a perplexing problem.

Negatives from my Leica M6, when using HIE, show a circle of higher
density exactly in the centre of the image area. It is smaller than the
white circle on the focal plane shutter blind, which is part of the M6's
metering system, so I don't think it has anything to do with that.

It may be aperture related,since the problem only seems to be noticeable
at the smaller appertures. ie, f11 and f16.

Could it be that the shutter blind of the M6 is  not impervious to infra
red rays?

I would really appreciate any help, because I have had to add the extra
weight of a separate system, Nikon, purely to use IR. I would prefer to
carry just an extra Leica body and use the existing lenses.
