Theoretically yes; the main problem is the fact that UV short pass
filters are made from glass. You can get 0.5mm and 0.2mm thickness
made (with a minor compromise towards blocking the visible spectrum),
but exact cutting will be your main problem.
My EOS-1 has a very slight protrusion (0.1mm) on the inside of the film
rails, on top and bottom. This way I can seal the filter light tight
to the film window. AFAIK Nikon's don't have this protrusion, the
film rails are flush with the film window.

I recommend "IR- und UV-Fotografie" by Guenter Spitzing, if you don't
already have this book (German!).
