You may well be correct- it may prove impossible. But the basic idea, of
using more reflection rather than less, may work. There are other
possibilities, such as (I can't believe I'm saying this!) mirror-like
plastic foil such as Melinex (well it was a round in the 60's, there must be
something similar now) and of course plain white vinyl tape. If much of the
"look" of HIE comes from not having an anti-halation backing and light being
reflected from the (normally shiny but black) pressure plate, then maybe-
just maybe- even more reflection would be interesting. And then again, maybe
not.
