I'm not 100% positive ... I know I have read that many of Nikon's ED
lenses do not require refocusing. I looked in my Moose Peterson's Nikon
System Handbook and that's not the place I read it.
My Nikkors have refocus marks, but they re non-ED.
I could find out. I have a friend with the 180/2.8.
