Re: 70 mm back for Bronica ETRSi 645

Attention Don Roberts (and of course others interested),

Hi Don! Thanks very much for your info about the 70 mm backs for Bronica
ETRSi 645 camera. It was Willem Jan pointing out to me the existence
of this back. So I got curious how this back works. I know, that appr.
a month ago there were rather lengthy discussions on THE LIST about the
70 mm problem. To be quite honest I didnt follow them closely because
by that time I was too much concentrated on mastering 35 mm HIE and
solving problems in connection with HIE (faint lines, dev. times, exp.
times etc.). Now that I have more grip on 35 mm HIE and got some
beautiful results, my interest also focusses on the 70 mm side of HIE.
Therefore see me as a beginner when I pose following (stupid) questions
to you (and others). Here we go:

1. I understand there is HIE in 70 mm format. What is the actual size,
does it come in rolls which I have to cut myself or does it come in
cassettes like HIE 35 mm. Is it some sort of panorama film 70 mm x 24
mm?
2. Could you actually describe the 70 mm back How can a 70 mm back fit
to a 645 camera. How can a 70 mm film be covered by a 645 camera, where
the biggest size is 60 mm.
3. What is the advantage of using 70 mm other than a wider picture. Is
it easy to handle and what are the specific problems.
4. Do I need a special developing tank for 70 mm HIE and are there more
items to be considered at developing.

You see, a lot of questions. Hope you dont mind! Thanks a lot!

Greetings
Jaap Los
