Focus Shift on Colour IR Film
- From: Andy Finney <andy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Don't forget that our visual accuity is poorer with colour than with
luminance, so any softness of focus on the red layer of colour IR film is
not as big a problem as the same thing on the monochrome stock. Typically,
for TV, you assume half the resolution for the colour components than for
the luminace ... and I believe that Photo-CD does the same. The result of
this is that even if the red layer is a bit soft (focus) you would not
notice it because your eye doesn't resolve red light well enough.
Incidentally, I omitted to say that my local E-6 processor developed my
Infrared Ektachome for about 4 pounds sterling ... which was a bargain.
Pics on the site soon ... but I just got a new Mac and am not 100%
transferred yet ... also it's the end of my financial year ... and the
pub's open ... and so on and so on .............
