What a great idea! Why I didn't think of this possibility myself, I don't
know, considering the amount of mental energy I've devoted to rolling my
own HIE, etc.
So, one minor problem I can think of is getting the sprocket holes of the
leader in relative synch with those of the film in the film tin. I wonder how
far out of synch they could be and still not create a problem as they
come across the frame-counting roller. Maybe that would only be a
temporary misalignment, though. Making sure the splicing tape doesn't get
in the sprocket hole area of the film is probably necessary, too.
Sounds like its time to sacrifice a 12-exp. roll of something cheap.
