I am unaware of anyone having any problems with regards Dev. tanks.
I have used jobo, patterson sys4, a patterson tanks form the 60s and
even a cheap jessops tank. All of these have never given me a problem
with Kodak's IR and as this is the most sensitive the others will be O.K. as
well.
With reference to the striplights, these do continue to emit visible light
after they have been switched off, but this is a VERY small amount.
The darkroom I use at work has 4 x 6ft striplights in it and I have
processed
film at 12500 asa without any problems and also have 400 asa film exposed
for over 5 minutes in there without any fogging being visible, though you
can
see them!
I am unsure about the amount of IR light they emit but I have just had a
look through
a handheld IR viewer and can see no light after they have been on for 2
hours, so I
would be very surprised if they would cause a problem either. If people are
very interested in this or have had problems I can set up our IR videcon
(sensitive
upto about 2000nm) to see if any 'glow' is visible.
I hope this puts yours and others peoples minds at rest.
