Never seen one.
For the insane price they cost new, it should have been made of
titanium or gold actually....;-))

I just saw a FS for a Hassy 70mm back in one of the rec.photo.*
newsgroups, but the US$500 price is more than steep IMO....or is this
a Hassy deviation? Can find them for a lot less here in Holland.

If you face high minimum orders (not unlikely), you can always try
B+H.

Btw, I believe that our 70mm expert Jim Henderson says that these
spool-on contraptions for running film from the cartridge onto the
development reel are not utterly necessary....but somehow I think
that finding these stands on the used market is not as easy as
finding tank+reel (it is hard to see what these things are good for
at first glimpse....wouldn't be surprised if many ended their life at
the garbage dump, because no one knew what it actually was....8-))
<jump in time>
I was searching for a list price for these Linhof stands....they seem
less expensive than the Kindermann units, at least according to the
Dutch price list (though B+H lists the Kindermann unit for US$200).
My German Linhof price list quotes more than US$300 for this
thing....even more interesting is that Linhof describes it as a
device for loading cartridges from 100' rolls, not for loading the
developing reel from cartridges. I am not sure what the main purpose
is....my Kindermann developing reel definately fits this Kindermann
stand perfectly, like it was made for it (and also sold this way by a
dealer, not as a bulk-roll spooling device).
Btw, it is more than a stand with two rods holding cartridge and
reel/bulk roll....the cartridge side has an odd looking slightly
V-shaped device on it, that squeezes/bulges the film before it enters
the developing reel....this is not something one would need for
loading cartridges from bulk....
Mmm....seems a dual purpose contraption therefore....the only thing I
am not 100% positive about anymore is whether the Linhof stand has
this V-shaped film squeezer....the Kindermann definately does (both
units are not exactly the same, the Kindermann uses a simple L-shaped
stand, the Linhof has two separate stands for both cartridge rod and
reel/bulk roll rod)....will have to check with my source again, I
think it had such a device.

The only other thing I am still curious about is whether the Alden
70mm bulk loader (as listed in the B+H catalog) provides both
functions (bulk and development spooling).
Anyone?

Oh btw, upon carefully inspecting the Kindermann construction, I also
found that the 15' spool that was left has a slit with teeth to hold
the 70mm perforation directly, without taping. I can only assume that
the Linhof spools (listed in their catalog separately) provide the
same construction. The only problem is that these genuine OEM Linhof
spools cost US$10 each....8-))
(yes, they are still plastic....should have been SS for that
price....btw, a Linhof 70mm cartridge is US$40....without spool that
is!....I even have one or two of these Linhof things (used)....I
think I am going to store them in a safe....;-))

Enough 70mm dabblings....my fingers are hurting....;-))
