I usually shoot HIE at EI 250, depending upon what I'm looking for. The more
ethereal effects can be gotten by slowing down to EI 100, sharper negatives can be
gained by moving up toward EI 500. This is measured TTF (through the filter).

For many years I used D76 1+1 70F 10 minutes. However, I have recently made a move
to Xtol and have been very happy with the results. I still have a bit more playing
around before I'll feel I've got it pegged.
