Two points come immediately to mind.  1)  You don't say what filter
you used on the camera.  2)  The print-making equipment presumably was
trying for "normal" color despite the absence of an orange mask, and
the criterion for normalcy generally is flesh tones.  So it's hard to
tell what sort of prints one might expect in doing the prints by hand.
