If the exposed portion goes outside the rectangular area, then it is certainly
"overexposed." "Underdevelopment" and "overdevelopment" will show itself in the
contrast. I place quotes around these thing because these "mistakes" may well be
what was intended. To obtain an ethereal quality in my images, I will "overexpose"
the film, which yielding a low contrast negative.
