Konica 120mm vs. Konica 35mm

I read the following in an chapter about IR photography:
"Konica also manufactures a 120mm size infrared film. It is a slow film ,
with a film speed rating of ISO 32 to ISO 50 and very little grain. The film
also records infrared radiation much better and is less contrasy than the
Konica 35mm film. The Konica 120mm film is perfect for photographyign nudes.
The resulting pictures are especially striking: the skin takes on an albaster
look, auras are recorded, and yet the images are quite sharp."

A couple of questions:
Does Konica really make two different IR emulsions. One for 120 film and one
for 35mm film?
Why does the Konica 120mm film record IR radiation better and is less
contrasty than the Konica 35mm film?
Thanks Rolland
