Even 87C works, but you get very long exposures.
SFX benefits more than all other films from a relatively dark red 
filter, simply because it only records only a small part of the 
deep red spectrum as it is....without filter you record mostly visible light, 
with dark red filter you block the visible, and only deep red is 
left. Other films have more balance between visible/red and deep 
red/infrared, so even with a light red filter you get IR effects.
