     I tried briefly with infrared remote controls, but I got no where with 
     them. Either the infrared is very dim from the control, or outside the 
     range of IR film.  I'd look at the specs on the led's and make sure 
     that they transmit at wavelengths inside the HIE response curve.

Has anyone experimented with IR LEDs to illuminate or create effects in their 
work?  I am assembling some basic IR circuits now, and was wondering if 
anyone had any advice.
