Take I-40 thru Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. Many of the exits empty
onto remaining pieces of Route 66. Also the little towns which are visible
just off the Interstate are time capsules. At Gallup turn north towards
Cortez, Colorado, and then into Utah on Hwy 6. There's marvelous scenery,
but the towns are worth the trip. However, the food is just as bad as it
always was on Route 66.
